About Me
Gabrielle is a writer at heart, an educator in mind, and a yogi in body and spirit. Her work is to inspire students and teachers from all disciplines to keep falling in love with yoga each new day.
Before teaching yoga, Gabrielle worked as a teacher trainer in the field of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Here, she fine-tuned her teaching skills and produced lessons that were both informative and inspiring.
Gabrielle’s double degree in Psychology and Education continues to shape her approach to teaching yoga as a tool for understanding the mind-body connection.
Her love for yin yoga prompted her to write ‘The Language of Yin’, a finalist in the Ashton Wylie Awards for Mind Body Spirit writing and a best-seller in the yoga genre. The Inspired Yoga Teacher, her second best-selling book, is the yang version of her yin.
She describes herself as a yoga magpie with over 1,000 hours of training in various traditions. Her teachers include Joe Barnett, Tiffany Cruikshank, Noah Maze, Dr Timothy McCall, Nico Luce, and Dr Scott Lyons.
Her classes are infused with wisdom, story and humour—an eclectic mix of styles reflecting her varied interests and training in yoga.
When she is not studying, practising, or teaching yoga, she can be found walking through the trees or in her garden.
