MYOFASCIAL RELEASE Foundations

Training for teachers and students

This workshop/training is for those interested in learning myofascial release techniques to incorporate into their classes or home practice.

Myofascial release is important for hydrating tissue, improving range of motion, and helping with recovery and even pain.

It can be done daily and is a safe, effective way to mobilise stuck tissue, creating better communication through our internal body suit or fascia.

You will learn:

  • Techniques for most parts of the body

  • Understand trigger points

  • Learn techniques for the application of SMFR (self-myofascial release)

  • Understand the basics of fascia to help you teach the why of the practice

  • How and when to SMFR use in a yoga setting

  • Basic anatomy

  • Learn some do’s and don’ts

  • Self-practice and peer practice guidelines

  • Understand the role the nervous system plays in release

You will come away with plenty of tools, ideas and knowledge to use immediately in your class or home practice.

Myofascial release pairs beautifully with yin yoga postures, before or after workouts and can be incorporated into most styles of yoga.
