Read About Me
Gabrielle Harris, the content and mindful writer and teacher is one of the 2019 finalists in the Ashton Wylie Mind Body Spirit awards.
Gabrielle has been teaching and practising yoga for over fifteen years. Her writing has been featured in Yoga Journal, Mind Body Green and various other publications. Her teaching and writing inspiration arise from over 1000 hours of studying with some of the world’s leading teachers in both the yin and yang world.
The best selling, Language of Yin, is an in-depth look at the practice of Yin yoga. Yin yoga has its roots in Taoism and has become one of the more popular styles of yoga practised worldwide. Students are asked to come into a pose and remain still for a period of time. It is in this stillness that we get to experience the workings of the mind, practise mindfulness, move towards a state of meditation and ultimately heal.
Her recently published 'The Inspired Yoga Teacher' is the yang sibling to 'The Language of Yin' and is a tribute to the many styles of yoga she has studied on her path.
Gabrielle says "My ultimate goal is to help students and teachers move beyond the poses and see how the teachings relate to their own lives with all the struggles and joys. In doing so my wish is that people live a life that is more easeful." This practical guide is an accessible way to weave the teachings into our everyday life by providing a translatable guide to life off the mat.
When Gabrielle is not writing down snippets of inspiration, learning, teaching or sharing you will find her in her garden or walking the hills with her beloved dog Stella. Gabrielle is married with two children and lives in Porirua, New Zealand on the water.

Praise
Thank you for generously sharing your vast knowledge and experience, sometimes it's just one word from you that sparks a 'wow' moment for me. I truly feel you teach straight from the heart, and that's what makes your courses so special. Thank you!
Emily
Gabrielle is such a wonderful teacher's teacher. Her ability to express all things yin in beautiful words that are easy to absorb make learning from her a joy. Her knowledge is extensive and real, learned not read. Thank you for sharing your gifts Gabrielle. Course Participant.
This was a fantastic training, I have completed Yin teacher training in the past, and I found this a wonderful refresher which taught me many new things, inspired me, and reinvigorated me in teaching Yin Yoga. Gabrielle is so knowledgeable and has a wonderful style of teaching - I felt welcomed into a family rather than as a student to class. I recommend this training to teachers and students alike.

I am absolutely loving everything about this course. The way you explain everything so clearly really is appreciated.

Firstly I’m loving your yin sessions, thank you. You have such a wonderful way of telling a story so that it ties in, very inspiring.

Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is that yoga is a tool for instigating change. Through story, themes, and carefully curated sequencing as a teacher I hope to move students minds and hearts. My wish is that people are inspired daily to live fully and with more ease.
Self study via yoga philosophy and practice is a gateway to a deeper gentle investigation in to their psyche. Each of my classes provide prompts for deeper thought, and insights into what it means to be embodied.
